Good afternoon IRS DEAF members and friends: I want to congratulate IRS DEAF organization on the approval and promoted Status to Employee Resource Group. I want to thank Catherine Haines and the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for recognizing and supporting IRS DEAF organization. We have begun to reflect the visions and purpose of what IRS DEAF founder Jim Bishop and his group envisioned many years ago. We will continue to seek support and advocate for IRS DEAF members and friends within federal agencies. As an Employee Resource Group IRS DEAF will have a role in strategic planning and helping shape the hiring, promoting and retention benefits for new and current IRS Deaf employees. This is a positive step in IRS DEAF reaching our goals and becoming an impactful organization. Our ultimate goal is for everyone to participate fully and equally in the workplace.
